Ready to Turn Your Life Around?

By Marilynn · Thursday, August 5th, 2010 · No Comments »

Jim Rohn said, “one day you may have a life-changing day.” As explanation he tells the story of a young mother who asks her husband for $10.  Her husband says to her, “WHAT FOR?”  By the end of that day she decided she would neverever ask again.  So she starts studying opportunity, finds it, takes the classes, put herself through school, becomes the Vice President of her company, makes a lot of money and kept her promise…she never ever had to ask again!   That was definitely her life-changing day…the day that turned her life around.

There are just 3 steps to turning your life around.  The first is Disgust. Like the woman in Jim’s story, there comes a day when you’ve had enough and declare, “That’s IT! I’ve had it!”  It’s the day you realize enough is enough! You can’t and won’t take it anymore!

The second step is Decision. But nothing will happen unless you decide that something Must Change.  Without making the decision, you will stay disgusted the rest of your life…enough is enough becomes just another complaint in what is probably a long list.  You’re just another person whining about their terrible life.  You must make the Decision to change something in your life.

Then the third step is Desire. You must want that change badly enough to do whatever it takes.  Your strong emotional desire will help carry you through the difficult, tough times.  The desire may have been waiting deep inside you for the right trigger to set it free to burn brightly.  But you never know what that trigger might be.

Jim admonishes us to welcome ALL experiences – especially the tough ones – they are the ones that provide the triggers…and our greatest opportunity for learning and growth.

And of course, you must have Resolve – the determination to stay the course when the going gets tough.

When you have all four of them – Disgust, Decision, Desire and Resolve, it will be the Day that Turns Your Life Around!

He was Awesome!

Have you seen the presentation Anthony (Tony) Robbins did for TED?  I just saw it for the first time and had to share it…he was awesome!  You can watch the entire video on UTube – here’s the link… http://bit.ly/TonyRobbinsGetAlife

You have never heard Tony Robbins talk so fast!  In just 20 minutes Tony presents his greatest hits!”  He’s fast, funny, thought provoking and very wise.

Tony talks about his early life and what got him started on his Life Path, and relates some of the great learning gems he received from his mentor.  It showed that ALL our experiences have a part in directing us toward living our Life Purpose.

He shared his belief that there are 6 Human NeedsCertainty, Uncertainty, Significance, Connection, Growth and Contribution…the last 2 being spiritual needs for our soul.  Though we definitely need all 6 of them in our life to feel complete, satisfied and whole, we usually lead with one of the six and he details how to figure out ours.

Tony explains his RPM system…Results, Purpose, Massive action…and how our brains are a servo mechanism.  They function like a smart bomb, zeroing in on our target and sticking with it regardless of the direction it takes.  He makes it clear that to get what we want, we must zero in on exactly what that is with absolute Clarity.  And we must know WHY we want it.

There is SO much more packed into this 20-minute presentation – you MUST watch it yourself to get the benefit of his wisdom and teaching.  Here’s that link again…http://bit.ly/TonyRobbinsGetAlife

You won’t be sorry!  He is Awesome…and the learning opportunity is enormous!

What is Prosperity?

By Marilynn · Thursday, July 29th, 2010 · No Comments »

What does Prosperity mean to you?

Would a substantial raise in pay do it for you? A new home? Doubling your business revenues? A deep connection to Spirit and Infinite Wisdom?

Prosperity is all this and more. It’s a state of well-being…a mindset…a way of thinking.  It’s simple access to all we want and need for a complete, easy and satisfying life.

Prosperity is not just dollars and cents. It is being able to attract everything we need – when we need it – and knowing we just have to ask for it.

But how do we attract all we want and need without fail? By cultivating rich ideas – specific thoughts of wealth, opulence, affluence, plenty, abundance – and identifying ourselves with these rich ideas…envisioning them in our lives.  We then become a channel for receiving God/Spirit’s unlimited Abundance.

I know… it seems too easy. That’s what I thought.  But I’ve learned that our life is not supposed to be hard.  God doesn’t plan for us to have a mean, troublesome life!  We make it that way.

CONNECTIONS…

By Marilynn · Monday, July 26th, 2010 · 2 Comments »

Everything in Life is connected…people, animals, things, situations.  There are no coincidences.  Everyone and everything crossing our path during our life journey does so for a reason…even though it may seem to be very negative at the time.

The reason could be a lesson we are to learn – some old belief we must release – something we are to heal.

Are you stuck in traffic?  Is there a scheduling conflict for several things you want and need to do?  Did your flight get delayed or cancelled?  These are not random occurrences in your life.  They are there for a reason.  Your choice is in how you look at it – what you focus on…the negative or positive side of it.

Seeing and thinking of everything as negative attracts more of the same negatives back into life.  You probably have at least one of these people in your life…always complaining, blaming others for what happens TO them, never happy.  Nothing will change while negative thinking permeates this person’s mind.

Hopefully, you also have someone who sees things from the bright side…always thinking positive.  A person who sees the good and the possibilities in every situation, regardless how negative it appears to be, is always happier and more joyful.

The choice you make determines your next awareness, understanding, and learning.  Say there is a schedule conflict for what you want to do and what you think in your head you should do.  Making your choice from your heart to do what is your true heart’s desire may be just what is required to help you learn a special life lesson and heal your heart.  It may be the one thing that can enable you to move forward in your life.

Don’t allow your choices to be based on negatives – what isn’t possible, what you can’t do or afford, what you think can’t happen, what you don’t know.  Focus on what you want to happen and what you want to do…

And what is possible will open up before you!

Live Life Like a Rose

By Marilynn · Thursday, July 22nd, 2010 · No Comments »

When we receive or buy a dozen roses, we put them into water with a bit of food, and enjoy their beauty. But after a couple days we may start to take them for granted…look at them without really seeing them.  Suddenly, we notice they’re looking a bit droopy and wilted.  Since rose stems clog easily, we realize they must be trimmed to open up their ability to absorb water again.

So it was with my beautiful pink roses. If I wanted to continue enjoying their beauty, they had to be trimmed.  As I set about this task, I became aware of several things…

It suddenly hit me how much we are like these roses…how we live our lives.

Just like that one rose – some find it difficult to continue to hang on…and just give up. They don’t get the life-sustaining learning and understanding they need in life and lose their will (petals) one by one until they die inside.

Others need to make changes in life…trim their stems so to speak…to continue moving on in life.

Many must eventually give up something…let go of ideas, people, thinking and habits that don’t serve and sustain them any longer in their life.

And just like the remaining 11 roses, we must all be willing to change - and adapt to those changes – so we can continue to live our lives…albeit in a different way.

Every human being is born with an innate desire and drive to live as long as possible.

Learn to be like that Rose…willing to change, adapt and let go of anything necessary to continue living a Beautiful Life!
