Your Inner Critic Stops You…DEAD!
Have you ever been stopped DEAD in your tracks…in your plan or attempt to achieve some Goal? No matter how determined you are to accomplish this goal – you haven’t been able get there! You begin your plan – start on the road, but pretty soon there are obstacles – stumbling blocks in front of you that seem insurmountable!? Or maybe you just can’t get started at all!!
Does your Inner Critic STOP you from…
- Doing what you know you must do?
- Taking the steps needed to achieve your Dream?
- Believing you can achieve more and become better?
- Dreaming about your Dream?
- Going after something you REALLY want?
- Taking even the very first step toward achieving your goal?
I’m not referring to that small little voice that quietly tells us positive things one time to help or protect us. I’m talking about that loud voice that tells you negative things about your Self over and over!
Have you ever asked yourself ”Who is this Inner Critic and where does it come from?” Or do you just listen and accept everything it tells you on face value?
Your Inner Critic was created by and emanates from your ego. That conscious part of your mind that is negative, telling you what to feel and what to do or not do.
You know your Inner Critic very well…it’s that little voice in your head that constantly tells you…
- You’re not smart enough to _______ (you fill in the blanks)
- You don’t have what it takes to _______
- It’s too hard to _____, you will never be able to do it.
- You have always failed in the past, so why bother to _____?
- No one cares or is interested in what you have to say about _____!
- Don’t even try to _____ - because you’re not pretty, smart, strong or knowledgeable enough to _____
- If you fail or look foolish, no one will respect you!
- Who do you think you are to _____
Did you know that 100% of people fail to accomplish their dreams and goals because their “Inner Critic” was 100% successful at preventing them from trying! And the worst part is your Inner Critic is just an illusion! That’s right…it’s an illusion created by your ego to protect itself from losing its power and control over you, under the guise of keeping you safe or protecting you from being hurt or making a mistake!! Sure, originally it was trying to help You! But that was long ago, and those “stories” are no longer true, nor do they serve your highest good!
What is your ego protecting you from? Taking charge…trying something new…making a Change! Change is the ego’s biggest Fear – it will do or tell you anything to prevent you from changing. It creates all these “mind stories” in your head telling you why you should not and cannot change and do something different – solely for the purpose of protecting itself…your ego…from losing its control over you.
If you don’t believe it, think back to the last time you were determined to do something different. You were sure you could do it – until your Inner Critic started running your “mind stories” through your head. And in no time flat you gave up…because your mind and ego had given you all the ‘reasons’ not to do it…why it wasn’t possible for you!
I’m here to tell you the only way to take control back from your ego is to overcome the Fear and take a chance! RISK! Stop believing the false “stories” your Inner Critic tells you. Go after your Dream no matter what obstacle appears and very soon the Universe/God/Spirit will unite with you – bringing you everything you need to make your Dream a Reality!
Our Life here on earth has but one Master Purpose – to learn and grow in our awareness!! From the moment we are born we are constantly learning…to smile, sit up, walk, talk, ride a bike, read, count and on and on. But our learning doesn’t stop when we finish formal schooling…our REAL learning is then just beginning. At least…it Should Be!
Be courageous and Risk not listening to your “Inner Critic!” You will learn the illusion you fear really had no basis in truth! And you will start on your road to your freedom!
