13 Principles to Manifesting Money – Bonus Principle 14!
“Take inventory of Yourself, as you read this closing chapter, and find out how many of the “Ghosts“ are standing in Your way” – Napoleon Hill
Foreword…This final chapter in Hill’s book, Think and Grow Rich, is extremely important…perhaps even more important than the chapters describing his 13 Principles. I believe he puts it at the end so he can first introduce you to, pique your interest in and excitement for his 13 principles. However, this last chapter is nearly the longest in the book – second only to his explanation of “Organized Planning.” Hill devotes a great deal of time and space in his book describing FEAR and how fears sabotage any attempts you make to change your life and manifest your Dreams. Read this chapter carefully, honestly assess your Self, and work at clearing your fears from your mind first. Then return to the beginning and study each principle in order, completing every exercise before continuing. “Think and Grow Rich” is not a one-time read…it’s value continues to grow each time you read it. Your awareness increases and you perceive new concepts, which had previously been hidden.
“THE SIX GHOSTS OF FEAR” - PART 1
“Before you can put any portion of this philosophy (Hill’s 13 Principles) into successful use, your mind must be prepared to receive it.” – N.H.
Preparation isn’t hard – study, analyze and understand the three enemies you must clear out of your mind…indecision, doubt and fear. Because the Sixth Sense can never function while these three negatives, or even any one of them occupy your mind. And these three enemies are closely related – if you find one, the other two are usually lurking nearby.
Indecision is the seed of FEAR! Indecision crystallizes into Doubt, they blend together and Fear is born. This blending process can be quite slow, which is what makes them so dangerous…they grow without our being aware or them.’
Hill’s purpose in writing this chapter was bring our attention to the cause and cure of what he considered the Six Basic Fears. Before we can eliminate them, we must first be able to recognize them, their habits, and where to find them. Honestly analyze yourself as you continue reading and do not be deceived by their subtle and sneaky habits. You will likely find them hidden in your subconscious mind, where they can be difficult to eradicate.
There are Six Basic Fears…all other fears are minor and can be grouped under these six. Every human being suffers from some combination of these six at different times of their life; and, in fact, are very lucky if they don’t have all six! In order of their most common appearance they are:
Fear of Poverty
Fear of Criticism
Fear of Poor Health
These first three are at the bottom of and form the basis of most of our worries.
Fear of Loss of someone’s Love
Fear of Old Age
Fear of Death
Let us be absolutely clear about one thing – FEARS are nothing more than states of mind. And as such, we can control and direct our state of mind – changing it from a negative to a positive state! Everything man has ever created began first as a thought impulse. These thought impulses, whether voluntary or involuntary, immediately begin to translate into their tangible equivalent. Thought impulses picked up by chance (impulses released by other minds) can determine our financial, professional, personal and social destiny just as easily as thought impulses we intentionally create and design to our own specifications!
This explains why some people “appear” to be “lucky” while others having equal or even greater talent, training, intelligence and/or opportunity continually experience Bad Luck. Every person has the ability to completely control their own mind! We each can either allow these “tramp” or foreign thoughts into our mind or close them out completely, accepting only thoughts of our own choosing.
Acceptance of this concept is KEY: without it we can go no further! Using this concept enables us to Master Fear.
Thought impulses of fear and poverty CANNOT be transmuted into courage and financial gain! Thoughts can only be transmuted into the physical manifestation of their own likeness -negative into negative…positive into positive.
The roads to poverty and riches go in opposite directions…wanting riches (meaning any financial, spiritual, mental and material) requires us to disallow any thought or circumstance leading to poverty. If you are even willing to accept the thoughts of lack that lead to poverty, you WILL receive the poverty you’ve accepted…it cannot be avoided. However, if you demand and expect riches and determine their form-what kind and how much will be sufficient, you now have the road map to follow. But not starting or quitting before you achieve your desire is entirely your responsibility and you cannot blame anyone else for your outcome. It requires the one thing you can control – your state of mind – and you must consciously create it for yourself.
Although the Fear of Poverty is just a state of mind, it is powerful enough to destroy one’s chances for achievement in any undertaking. It paralyzes reason, imagination and self-reliance, undermines enthusiasm and initiative, encourages uncertainty and procrastination and makes self-control and accurate thinking impossible. It destroys ambition, effort, persistence and will-power, clouds memory, kills love, discourages friendship and leads to sleeplessness and misery.
The fear of poverty is the most powerful of all fears and the most difficult to master. Nothing brings as much suffering and humility as poverty…only those who have experienced it can understand the full meaning of this statement. It is no wonder man fears poverty and why some will do anything to possess wealth. …To be Continued in Thursday’s post
