13 Principles to Manifesting Money! – Principle 12
“A Broadcasting and Receiving Station for Thought” – Napoleon Hill
Principle 12 – The Brain
Working with Doctors Alexander Graham Bell and Elmer R. Gates, Napoleon Hill observed that the Brain is both a broadcasting and receiving station for the “vibration” of thought. Functioning similarly to the radio broadcasting principle, every human brain is capable of picking up thought vibrations released by other brains.
Consider the chapter on Imagination describing “creative imagination,” which is the receiving set in the brain. Creative imagination receives the thought vibrations or energy released by other brains and is the communication agent between the conscious, or reasoning mind, and the four sources we talked about earlier from which we receive thought.
When stimulated to a greater vibrational rate through increased positive or negative emotions, the mind becomes more receptive to outside sources of thought. This is why it’s SO important to surround yourself only with people having positive attitudes, ideas and thoughts…whether they are among your daily associations (family, friends, and business/work) or a member of your personally selected “Master Mind” group!
Any and all common conversations which elicit excitement or any other strong feeling – either positive or negative – kicks your brain’s receptors into gear.
Think back to a past conversation where everyone was complaining about some past wrong…perhaps about being wrongly treated by a boss or taken advantage of by a company. Remember how the conversation escalated, angry feelings and emotions increased, and people started feeding off each other’s emotions. These negative emotions stimulated vibrational thoughts between everyone, their brains took in all this negative energy and depending on how emotionally charged up you became, your brain was still working overtime hours later thinking about all the “wrongs” done, some of which you may not have actually experienced personally!
Now consider instead a conversation among very positive people, perhaps a meeting to plan an upcoming party, where everyone is on the same page and working toward the same goals. Enthusiasm and excitement escalates as ideas are brought forth that generates more creative ideas and plans! Here too everyone’s brain is feeding off each other and creative imagination is stimulated. Even several hours later your brain is still providing you with new creative ideas – ideas for both the original party AND for other things in your life totally unrelated to the party!
This is the power of a “Master Mind” group…each member has a positive attitude about the end result, each bringing a different knowledge and experience to the conversation. Each is completely supportive of your idea and goal, and you are the driving force – bringing the excitement and enthusiasm of your “Desire” in to amp up the thought energy rate, increasing creative imagination in each member and between all members’ brains.
Previously you learned that the sex emotion is #1 in intensity and driving force, allowing the brain to function at a much greater rate. Transmuting this sexual energy from merely a physical aspect to the spiritual or mental aspect increases thoughts to such a pitch that creativity or “creative imagination” becomes highly receptive to ideas, both attracting thoughts from other brains and increasing one’s own brain receptivity, essential so your subconscious mind can recognize and act on those thoughts.
“Creative imagination” is the “receiver set”or receiving station to pick up thought energies; the subconscious mind is the “sending station” that sends thought energies. And the Principle of Autosuggestion is the medium used to activate your “broadcasting” station of receiving and sending. There are only three principles to operating your “broadcasting” station…subconscious mind, creative imagination and autosuggestion…all of which you have already learned about. You have also learned the main stimuli to use in putting the three principles into action. And the whole procedure begins with “Desire.”
In the past man has depended almost solely on his physical senses. But we are in a wonderful new spiritual age that teaches about the intangible forces…things we cannot perceive through any of our five senses. Perhaps we will come to realize that the other self is MORE powerful than the physical self. That we are all controlled daily by forces which are unseen and intangible…the force of the oceans’ waves, the force of gravity, the power of thunder storms and electricity, and the force of thought…about which mankind understands the least.
Yet, science has learned enough about the human brain to know that the central switchboard of the brain, the lines connecting brains cells together, equals the number 1 followed by 15 million zeros! There are 10 to 14 billion nerve cells in the cerebral cortex, arranged in very specific orderly patterns. It is ludicrous to think this intricate network was created just to carry out our physical functions!
Great strides have been made in the areas of telepathy and clairvoyance…forms of extra sensory perceptions other than the five senses. Hill discovered the ideal condition under which to stimulate the mind to function using the sixth sense. This ideal condition is a close working relationship between several people for the purpose of finding the solution to a problem.
