Are You Black and Blue?

Are you black and blue from incessantly beating yourself up?

Do you constantly hear in your head or tell yourself…

If you are like most small business owners and entrepreneurs, you always have a long list of “to-dos” and probably don’t complete your entire list every day.

At the end of your day (or anytime in the day) are you hearing a litany of negative talk about everything you didn’t get to or finish during that day…or previous days/weeks/months?  This sets you up for overwhelming feelings of guilt and recrimination about the many things you think you should have completed according to your own self-imposed deadlines.

The Big Question is…”How often do you acknowledge yourself for everything you do accomplish?”

Do you ever give yourself credit for all the amazing qualities that combine to make you the talented, unique, one-and-only person you are right now?

Have you ever thought about or written down everything you completed in a day, week or month?

Being women, it seems we take care of everyone else in our lives except ourselves. We support our husbands and partners, build up our children’s self-image, and care for our parents.  We care more about everyone else than ourselves! We would never consider telling the other people in our lives any of the negative stuff we constantly harangue ourselves with…not in a million years!  Because we know how greatly those negative comments would hurt and discourage them.

Yet, we habitually beat ourselves up with negative comments about all the stuff we didn’t accomplish…dishes in the sink, laundry piled up, bills to be paid, articles to be written, projects or programs still not started, and on and on…until our creative minds are black and blue and our connection to Spirit and Source is battered or broken!

Well, starting NOW…leave the dishes, forget the laundry, put the articles and projects on hold…take time today, without feeling guilty, to think back through the past days, weeks or months and remember all that you have accomplished.  Take as much time as you need to create a written list of every single thing you’ve done – not just the projects, but every step along the way – even if it’s partially complete or needs follow-up.

You will be just as astounded as I was by how much you do get done each and every day…what you’ve accomplished over time!  And an added benefit will be the ready-made list of tasks to work on the next day!

Now, stop beating yourself up and start giving yourself credit for how much you DO every day!  Acknowledge yourself for all the qualities and abilities you employ daily to do all you do.

Then schedule this time regularly every week or month – give yourself the Gift of recognizing and acknowledging all that you achieve!

Then watch the Transformation that praising your Self produces.  It feeds your Soul and helps you fly through tasks to get even more done!
