FAITH…How it Works

By Marilynn · Thursday, April 29th, 2010

In writing these blog posts I’ve come to learn that God has a very specific purpose for inspiring me to write them…to increase my awareness and understanding of the subject I’m writing about.  Every post written in this blog has given ME new realizations, perceptions, awareness and understanding that impel my growth and Life Purpose.  My desire for this blog is to share my learning with you.

Over the past weeks I’ve been studying and writing about Wallace Wattles’ book, the Science of Getting Rich.  In thinking back about his precepts and his Certain Way to achieving wealth, I realized that the entire foundation of his book is based in and built on Belief and Faith.  Pondering further, I re-read sections from another favorite author, Robert Russell, for another and perhaps clearer perspective.

* What is FAITH?

* How do we find or achieve Faith?

* Can we hold onto it, or is Faith fleeting?

…these are the questions I had.  And what I learned was…

-  FAITH is an assumption…it is believing something our mind tells us is not logical and cannot be true.

-  FAITH is the unconditional acceptance of the truth of our affirmations and the belief our desires will be fulfilled.

-  We already have Faith – we are born with it. Faith just needs our awareness of it and the Power it holds for us.

-  To find Faith we must get quiet and silent for a time each day so we can hear it speak to us.  We must clear our minds of that incessant chatter running through it (this IS possible and quite easy once you know the secret.)

-  Be Grateful for all that we have (so many have less) AND Be Grateful for what we have not yet seen, touched or experienced…believing it exists and is on its way.

-  Positive affirmations are not enough if they are the only thing. They are often based in beliefs of “lack” and not having enough – thereby, are more negative than positive.

-  The more we fight and work against something in our lives - a bad relationship, ill health, money issues, cancer – the more real and stronger it becomes to our conscious mind and the more of it we manifest in our lives.

-  Any troubles, trials, and tribulations we have in our lives are actually gifts that point to what we must work on and learn – opportunities to grow and signs showing us where we can rise to new levels of awareness.

-  Our bodies are merely the container we have chosen to house our Real Self – Our Spirit. Anything we don’t like about it provides an opportunity to change perception, to learn and grow in awareness and understanding.

I’ve learned that although I’ve increased my awareness and understanding 100-fold over the past few years, there is always more to learn and higher levels to attain.

But the biggest and most important thing I’ve learned is that our ultimate purpose is to constantly learn and grow throughout our entire life.  When we keep this as our goal, we can’t help but live our Life Purpose!
